Calterah Receives 2021 Lingxuan Award for Excellent Mass-Produced ICs

On December 3 and 4, China Auto Supply Chain Summit (CASCS) 2021 and the 6th China Lingxuan Awards Ceremony were held in Wuhan, China. Calterah was honored with the Lingxuan Award for Excellent Mass-Produced ICs for its Alps family of mmWave radar SoC chips.

CASCS 2021, themed on changes, addressed the reinforcement, optimization, and extension of the auto supply chain and other major relevant topics such as carbon neutrality, and security and regionalization of the chain. Over 500 leading companies in the auto parts industry from China and abroad attended the event. On the second day of the summit, the ceremony of China Auto Parts Industry Awards, also known as Lingxuan Awards took place. Initiated by the Auto Business Review magazine in 2016, the Lingxuan Awards aims to discover and encourage more preeminent companies and emerging players in the auto parts industry and offer auto manufacturers a tech-focused landscape of the supply chain. Ever since its establishment, the Lingxuan Awards has become an indicator of competitiveness and progress for China’s auto parts industry.

In the run-up to the ceremony, top auto parts enterprises, with their shortlisted products and solutions, competed vigorously for the awards for 11 categories including powertrain systems, ICs, cockpits and more. As its Alps products stood out in the jury review by the six criteria, namely level of advancement, reliability, adaptability, serviceability, brand power and market share, Calterah carried off the Lingxuan Award for Excellent Mass-Produced ICs .

The award-winning Alps chips are Calterah’s second-generation CMOS mmWave radar SoC ICs, composed of a 2T4R or 4T4R transceiver, a highly configurable FMCW generator, high-speed ADCs, radar signal processing baseband, and a high-performance CPU. Alps was officially mass-produced in February 2021, and then certified as ASIL-B fully compliant by TÜV Rheinland in August, becoming China’s first ICs to obtain the ISO 26262 full compliance certification.

Alps is also one of the two SoC families with radar signal processing baseband that Calterah took the lead to roll out. Prior to Alps, the company as a leading CMOS mmWave radar chip design house already mass-produced the world’s first automotive-grade CMOS 77 GHz or 79 GHz mmWave RF front-end radar-on-chip. Calterah has also subsequently launched AiP ICs, accelerating the application of mmWave radar in auto and other markets. In October this year, Calterah unveiled its Mini products featuring “Mini, but Mighty” to fulfill the requirements of emerging applications for the size, power consumption, and cost of radar sensors. The company currently is also going all out to develop next-generation radar chips of greater competitiveness and supply the end markets with more powerful solutions.

For Calterah, the significance of earning a Lingxuan Award is not just about winning, but about fully leveraging the mmWave radar technology to help advance autonomous driving and make a contribution to boosting the competitiveness of China’s auto supply chain, as the CASE (Connectivity, Autonomy, Shared mobility, Electrification) technologies continue to transform the auto industry.
