Calterah Obtains TMMi Level 4 Certification, Scoring “Fully Achieved” in All Process Areas new

2025-04-09

Recently, Calterah has obtained the TMMi (Test Maturity Model integration) Level 4 certification, scoring “Fully Achieved” in all process areas of software testing for the requirements of the TMMi Level 4. As one of the few automotive semiconductor companies worldwide reaching TMMi Level 4 or higher, Calterah has demonstrated leading capabilities in its software testing management system, quantitative analysis, quality risk control, etc. It is also capable of continuously enhancing its testing processes and quality management, to further boost the quality and delivery efficiency of chips and software and help customers bring automotive radar products to the market, paving the way for smart driving for all.

Developed by the TMMi foundation, TMMi is a globally recognized framework for establishing and improving testing processes, including five maturity levels: Initial, Managed, Defined, Measured, and Optimization. The higher the level of TMMi maturity an organization fulfills, the more mature and robust its testing practices are. Considered as one of the most influential models for evaluating testing capability maturity, TMMi helps organizations around the world establish enterprise-level testing systems that cover the full testing lifecycle, comprehensively boosting their testing and quality management capabilities.

During the TMMi Level 4 certification process, Calterah integrated its corporate management systems to build and refine its testing management system and formulated a 4-level model to guide testing practice. Calterah also implemented a multi-tiered mechanism for testing management and used specific testing improvement practice to enhance standardization, supervision and control, and risk identification and warning. This effort covered six project-level pilot practice and ten organization-level pilot practice for SoC families such as Alps-Pro, Andes, Kunlun-USRR, etc., building up the system and capabilities of quantitative management. Such practice will also be applied to more Calterah SoC products in the future.

As a leader in the design and development of CMOS mmWave radar chips, Calterah has always been committed to technological innovations of semiconductors and adhered to its quality policy of “With a pledge of quality, we innovate for good.” Calterah has built a comprehensive quality management system covering the whole automotive chip lifecycle—from chip design and software development to system testing—that is compliant with major international standards, including the automotive functional safety standard ISO 26262, the automotive cybersecurity standard ISO/SAE 21434, the automotive software standard ASPICE, and the information security management standards ISO/IEC 27001 and TISAX. The newly-attained TMMi Level 4 certification further strengthens Calterah’s capabilities in data-driven decision-making, proactive risk prevention, and systematic operation. By ensuring higher quality and greater efficiency in delivering radar SoCs and software products, Calterah will help customers bring radar products to the market faster.

Looking ahead, Calterah will continue enhancing its testing processes for radar SoCs and software through innovative technologies. Aside from internal optimization, Calterah also aims to empower the automotive industry by providing safer and higher-performance mmWave radar SoC solutions for smart driving around the world.
