On April 26th, we celebrate the 24th World Intellectual Property Day with the theme "IP and SDGs: Embracing Innovation, Building a Common Future" highlighted by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). WIPO encourages discussions on the crucial values of intellectual property (IP), innovation, and creation in the pursuit of sustainable development goals and a community of shared future for mankind. In the field of mmWave radar chips, Calterah's groundbreaking technologies have been actively contributing to creating a more sustainable world.
What are the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)? The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by the international community in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, both now and in the future. The 2030 Agenda is underpinned by 17 SDGs. The SDGs are an urgent call to action for all countries to come together in a global partnership to carve pathways to a better and more sustainable future. Calterah Enables Wide Application of mmWave Radar, Contributing to Realizing SDGs
IP serves as a “potent catalyst” for economic growth and societal development, playing a crucial role in improving livelihoods, protecting the planet, and more. According to WIPO reports, one-third of patented inventions are related to sustainable development goals. Calterah's proprietary inventions in the field of mmWave radar chips also advance the realization of SDGs.
Calterah Builds Comprehensive IP Protection Based on CMOS mmWave Chip Innovations
As a global leader in mmWave radar chip technology, Calterah continues pursuing CMOS mmWave semiconductor technology innovation and has built up comprehensive IP protection. Calterah has been consolidating its core technological competitiveness. Since its first patent application in 2016, Calterah has rapidly been expanding its IP portfolio, with the numer of patent applications surpassing 100 by 2020. It also ventured into international markets with its first overseas application in 2019 and the first overseas patent was granted in 2023. Currently, Calterah has filed more than 450 patent applications globally, covering its proprietary technologies such as Antenna in Package (AiP) and Flex-Cascading®.
In recent years, Calterah has obtained the Intellectual Property Management System Certification, the title of National Intellectual Property Advantage Enterprise, and the Shanghai Intellectual Property Innovation Award. Calterah has been recognized as a pilot enterprise in patent work by the Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration and holds membership in the China Patent Protection Association. Calterah's continuous investment and achievements in IP protection and patent work have been highly recognized by professional institutions and government units.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Calterah. A decade ago, we incorporated "the Innovative Mind" and "Never-Ending Breakthroughs" into our core values. Over the past decade, innovation has continuously provided momentum for Calterah's rapid development, while IP has offered strong support and protection for innovation, paving the way for Calterah's distinctive sustainable development path. We have also built a comprehensive IP lifecycle management system that focuses on the incubation and cultivation of high-value patents and have achieved IP compliance throughout the entire product development process.
From little acorns, mighty oaks grow. Upholding the mission of “Make Millimeter-Wave Serve Everyone”, Calterah will continue driving cutting-edge mmWave innovations, advance the layout and realization of high-value IPs, and contribute to a sustainable future for all.
