(Senior) Field Application Engineer (UWB)

Location: Munich, Bavaria, Germany (On-Site)

Responsibilities

  • Support customers (Global Tier-1s) in Calterah products evaluation & design-in activities
  • Help customers develop their applications with Calterah products, and support customers on-site for best quality
  • Promote Calterah products and system-level solutions to customers based on their requirements
  • Track key project status and coordinate resources to drive projects forward through mass production
  • Gather customers’ feedback on Calterah products and information of industry technical trends for product optimization
  • Organize and present workshops and training sessions to customers
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision makers on the technical side at our customers

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Telecommunication or related discipline
  • 3 or more years of working experience as a Field Application Engineer (FAE), Application Engineer (AE), system engineer or a similar role
  • Experience working with a global automotive sensor Tier-1 supplier is a plus
  • Strong background in embedded systems, including real-time embedded software and hardware integration
  • Solid understanding of analog and digital circuits, with proven ability to debug complex system-level issues and apply effective problem-solving skills
  • Hands-on experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS or AUTOSAR OS
  • Familiarity with Bootloader development, Board Support Package (BSP) integration, and firmware update strategies
  • Working knowledge of AUTOSAR Basic Software (BSW) modules and Microcontroller Abstraction Layer (MCAL)
  • Understanding of functional safety standards (ISO 26262) and development processes aligned with ASPICE compliance
  • Proficiency in embedded C/C++ for low-level driver development and debugging (e.g., GPIO, SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet)
  • Familiar with detailed understanding of at least one wireless protocol (UWB, Bluetooth, Zigbee, WiFi, etc.)
  • Familiar with basic lab equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, multimeter, and power supply)
  • Self-driven, able to work independently within a customer-facing engineering environment
  • High level of initiative, responsibility, and proactive attitude
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English and German, both written and verbal
  • Willing to travel to customer sites to provide technical support and demonstrations of Calterah technology
