Calterah Dubhe UWB SoCs Win Innovation Award of Korea Electronics Show, Empowering the Future Mobility Ecosystem

2025-10-28

At the 56th Korea Electronics Show (KES), the largest exhibition for the Korean electronics industry recently wrapped up in Seoul, Calterah exhibited its latest breakthroughs in mmWave radar SoCs and ultra-wideband (UWB) SoCs. Among the chip products, the Dubhe family—the world’s first UWB SoC series compliant with the next-generation IEEE 802.15.4ab standard—was honored with the 2025 KES Innovation Award in Electronic Parts & Materials.

Dr. Jiashu Chen, Founder and CEO of Calterah, highlighted, “We are truly honored to have received this award, which recognizes Calterah’s innovation and technological excellence. It affirms the value we bring to the global mobility industry and reinforces our commitment to driving safer, smarter, and more connected vehicles. Korea is one of the most important markets in the global mobility industry, where innovation and safety go hand in hand. We aim to position Calterah not just as a technology provider, but as a trusted and strategic partner driving Korea’s growth and its role in the global mobility ecosystem.

The award-winning Dubhe family, the world’s first UWB SoC series compliant with the IEEE 802.15.4ab standard, incorporates the MMS UWB technology for enhanced link budget, achieving a ranging distance of up to 400 meters. Along with 2T4R radar functionality, Dubhe enables advanced sensing features such as child presence detection (CPD). Fabricated on a 22 nm CMOS process, Dubhe also offers ultra-low power consumption. Plus, the chip series is compliant with global standards, including FiRa 3.0 and CCC Digital Key 3.0. All these features extend its applications to digital keys, in-cabin and exterior vehicle radar, smartphones, and IoT devices.

The exhibits on display also included Calterah’s most comprehensive and leading-edge portfolio of mmWave radar SoCs, from product series including Andes, Alps-Pro, Kunlun-USRR, Lancang-USRR, etc., which enable applications in three key segments: imaging radar, ADAS radar, and emerging radar.

Since 2025, the introduction of mandatory national standards for Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) and safety regulations for driving assistance functions in China has elevated the requirements of radar performances in small, stationary object detection and all-weather sensing. Calterah's Andes 4T4R imaging radar chip is the perfect solution for this sensing upgrade, providing driving assistance systems with robust, all-weather detection capabilities. The Andes RoP® chip integrates a multi-core CPU, DSP, and Calterah’s proprietary Radar Signal Processor (RSP), delivering superior signal processing performance. It also supports multi-chip interconnection via the Flex-Cascading® technology, enabling long-range and high-resolution performance simultaneously, and providing optimized capabilities for autonomous driving and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) of Level 3 and above.

As of today, Calterah has filed more than 600 patent applications worldwide, cooperated with over 30 car OEMs and empowered 300 plus passenger vehicle models with its mmWave radar SoCs, with the accumulative IC shipments exceeding 20,000,000 units. Leveraging a robust patent portfolio, high-performance automotive-grade chips with rapid iteration, and proven automotive-grade mass production expertise, Calterah has established partnerships with numerous leading NEV (New Energy Vehicle) OEMs in China, becoming the mmWave radar chip supplier for many popular car models, with a domestic market share expected to exceed 30% by the end of the year. While solidifying its leading position in China, Calterah is also expanding into overseas markets, including Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. As of today, Calterah has successfully secured multiple projects from leading global Tier-1s. With innovations and solutions now being deployed globally, Calterah looks forward to contributing to a new intelligent driving ecosystem along with more international partners.

Calterah’s exhibition at the KES is a critical step in deepening our cooperation with customers in the region. By strengthening communication with local OEMs and Tier-1s, Calterah will further expand its strategic footprint in the Korean market, providing localized support and tailored solutions to accelerate the growth of the next-generation mobility ecosystem.
